At Kent Canine Academy, our mission is to make the wider world more accessible to anyone with a suitable therapy dog, providing the unwavering support of a knowledgeable, empathetic, and esteemed organisation.

We are dedicated to empowering individuals to train their dogs to the highest standards, ensuring they can confidently and harmoniously accompany their furry companions in public places and spaces whenever necessary and appropriate.

Our Purpose

Our primary focus is to offer comprehensive training and support to owner-trained assistance dogs and their handlers, granting them access to a standardised organisation equipped to provide specific public access training and broader assistance.

Why Therapy Dogs in Schools Matter

At Kent Canine Academy, we believe that therapy dogs have a profound impact on educational environments, creating a nurturing and calming atmosphere that fosters emotional growth, enhances learning experiences, and promotes overall well-being. By introducing therapy dogs to schools, we aim to:

  • Enhance emotional well-being through comfort and companionship, thereby reducing stress and anxiety among students and staff.
  • Improve focus and attention by interacting with therapy dogs, resulting in a positive learning environment.
  • Cultivate Social Skills. Therapy dogs promote social interactions and empathy, fostering stronger connections among students and enhancing social development.
  • Boost Confidence. The non-judgmental presence of therapy dogs can boost self-esteem and confidence, encouraging students to overcome challenges.

Our Tailored Program

Kent Canine Academy offers a specially tailored program for schools, designed to seamlessly integrate therapy dogs into the educational setting. Our team of expert trainers will work closely with school administrators, teachers, and students to create a harmonious and supportive environment for everyone involved.
